"Boutique beer" on the rise

A new Reuters report is out, noting the accelerating shift in consumer preference for locally-produced craft beer, in lieu of more expensive wine and distilled spirits. We agree that the current recession is advancing craft beer uptake, especially in bottle sales. However, it’s important to understand that these shifting consumer preferences have been a long time in the making.

There’s nothing “boutique” about craft beer. Americans lost sight of their proud beer heritage (thanks to connotations like these) and are finding the light anew.
