Jester King Grand Opening Party

January 31, 2011

Thank you very much to everyone who came to the Jester King grand opening this weekend. We had a great time and hope you did too. We’re happy that many of you got to see the brewery and the farm (Ceres Park) where Jester King is located. It’s a relaxing place out in the Hill Country that we think is great for enjoying the outdoors, music and craft beer. We’re glad so many of you could share it with us on Saturday.

We’d like to offer a special thank you to all our volunteers who did a tremendous job. Nothing on Saturday would have been possible without you, so thank you very, very much! Thanks as well to our great friend Will Sherman for all his hard work planning the event.

We’d also like to thank the great group of musicians – Blind Boy Chocolate and the Milk Sheiks, Rattletree Electric, Clyde & Clem’s Whiskey Business and Melogrand – for putting on some highly entertaining shows. Thanks as well to Real Ale, Live Oak, Independence, (512), Uncle Billy’s, Circle Brewing and Rahr & Sons for lending or offering to lend us extra empty keg shells for the event. The support we’ve received from our local brewing community has been wonderful and is much appreciated. Finally, thanks to the Austin Facial Hair Club, the Kreatures, Meatheads and Strugglers for bringing out their classic cars, the Annie Ray Photo Booth, the Happy Hobo, Old School BBQ and Vasquez Tacos.

We’d like to say we’re sorry to everyone who was turned away at the entrance as the day progressed. We hope you’ll come back and see us sometime. We planned for a crowd of 2,000, but we estimate that there were between 3,500 and 5,000 people in attendance. Parking and traffic became issues. TABC and the Hays County police were really great in working with us to keep everything safe. Thanks to them as well. Seriously, they were really cool about everything and did a great service.

We look forward to having another event in the future and hope you’ll join us. In the meantime, we’ll soon have our tasting room open and have regular tours. We’ll also feature some small, low key weeknight events in the coming weeks and months with some nice acoustic music on the brewery patio. Check our website for more details.

Thank you one more time to everyone for making our grand opening a great day! Here are some of our favorite pictures from Saturday:
