Wytchmaker Rye IPA to Debut at Draught House Tonight (10/26)

As part of Austin Beer Week, we are releasing our first keg of Wytchmaker Rye India Pale Ale Tonight at Draught House in Austin. We’ll be on hand to meet and talk beer with anyone who wants to speak with us.

Wytchmaker is brewed with organic base malt, 15% malted rye and 3 lbs. of hops per barrel. It’s an aggressively hopped rye IPA, but is mashed at a low temperature and sparingly uses unfermentable malts to finish dry. Here are its specs:

OG: 1.060
FG: 1.009
IBU: 96 (according to Rager formula, actual IBU not tested)
ABV: ~6.7%
SRM: 12
Malts: Organic Two Row, Malted Rye, Carapils
Hops: Cascade, Centennial (~2 lbs. per barrel in kettle, ~1lb. per barrel dry hop)
Yeast: English Dry Ale

We’ll also have a keg of Commercial Suicide Oaked Dark Mild on tap. Commercial Suicide is 70% dark mild and 30% dark mild aged in medium toast, Kentucky oak barrels (new barrels, not bourbon). Here are its specs:

FG: 1.016
IBU: 18
ABV: ~3.3%
SRM: 18
Malts: Maris Otter, Brown, Caramalt, Extra Dark Crystal, Pale Chocolate
Hops: East Kent Golding
Yeast: English Dry Ale
